Symptoms of Celiac???

I am a recently diagnosed type 1 diabetic.  For the past 2 months I've been having horrible pain in my lower right abdomen.  I had a CT scan and it showed that my intestines were inflamed.  I had a Colonoscopy 2 weeks ago and that came back fine.  The pain is really bad and I am living on pain pills and just had to be put on steroids (which is wreaking havoc on my blood sugar levels).  The pain also gets a lot worse about an hour after I eat.  I read a little a Celiac and thought it could be a possibility.

Have any of you that suffer from that disease have or hd any similer sysmptoms??

Thanks,
JR

Hello,

Celiac disease is a digestive disease that damages the small intestine and interferes with absorption of nutrients from food. People who have celiac disease cannot tolerate gluten. Symptoms of celiac disease vary from person to person. Symptoms may occur in the digestive system or in other parts of the body. They include diarrhea which is pale, voluminous and malodorous. Abdominal pain and cramping, bloatedness with abdominal distention (thought to be due to fermentative production of bowel gas) and mouth ulcers may also be present.Weight loss, unexplained iron-deficiency anemia ,fatigue ,bone or joint pain, arthritis and depression or anxiety may also be there.

Diagnosed by blood blood for high levels of anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies (tTGA) or anti-endomysium antibodies (EMA),intestinal biopsy and skin biopsy if skin lesions are present. You can read about it in detail from:

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted in case you have any additional queries.
