Tonsils Swelling during morning and day

by GoldenPhoenix, Sep 10, 2009 04:07PM
I have already been to the doctor but they seem to say there is nothing wrong. I got an Xray of my throat and went through two sleep labs and all they focused on was if i could breathe and not the fact of my tonsils.

-It started in early july, about twice-four times a week my tonsils would swell. They werent red and my sinuses werent bad but they would swell the about three times there size, i could stand looking in the mirror and breathe out through my mouth pretty hard and the bottom half of my tonsils could lay flat on the back of my tongue. I would wake up feeling like i was choking when id try to swallow but it was only in the early morning. Then id notice it during the day, well after i had eaten something like 3 hours after, and sometimes when id drink ice cold glasses of water i could feel them start to swell, then id be trying to swallow frequently cause of the irritating feeling of a large lump but it was my tonsils swollen cause id check to see.
My primary swabbed my tonsils and she said if an infection showed up in the results she prescribe me something, and if not id get a call from the ear, nose, throat Doctor, and she enough they called cause i had no infection. So they saw me but for some reason when i told them about my tonsils they seems to only focus on me talking about the morning and not thinking to include during the day part. So they set me up with a Xray scan and two sleep labs cause they were more focused on my sinuses which i know have a part of it, and i could understand if they were only swelling when id sleep due to snoring, but they were swelling during the day. I just went in today so they could review my sleep labs and xrays but they said everything looked alright just showed i have some irritation with my sinuses which ive known all my life cause my father and i suffer from Hay-fever but none of my family has ever had problems with there tonsils. When i told the dr again about the fact they would also swell during the day and not due to food, and sometimes when id drink water he didnt have much to say, i asked if it might be due to allergies and again he had no real answer to it he just kind of hurried me off with my allergy prescription for flonaise and set me up for another appointment in 3 months. I wish they had just cut the suckers out of my throat even though ive heard its a difficult procedure for adults. Im 25 yrs old if that helps any.
