Hello and hope you are doing well.

Tracheomalacia in an adult is the acquired type and occurs with prolonged intubation, chronic tracheal infections, or inflammatory conditions like polychondritis. It could also be due to extrinsic causes like vascular rings. Therapy is based on the underlying cause and is usually supportive. Positive-pressure ventilation is used as short term therapy and Tracheostomy is found to be effective.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
