Unexplainable red rash

Unexplainable red rash

I have developed a red, itchy rash between breasts.  SOmething that has occurred in the past in hot weather (heat rash)   I was told by PCP to put talc on it and it helped somewhat.  The rash sort of disappeared by was still visible.  The last few weeks it has reared its ugly head again with a vengence.  I had a 2 week course of antibiotic analox due to bronchitis.  On the 13th day of taking this med, my rash came out in full bloom only worse than ever.  I have used antifungal cream which burnt my skin, dysetin diaper creme (helped somewhat) and now am using neosporin.  This has made the redness go away, but rash is still present and slightly itchy.  Really bothers me after a hot shower.  Any suggestions on what could have caused it and what can I use over the counter to calm it down?  I don't see my PCP until mid February and really don't want to go back before that time due to high co pays.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have no answers as to how your rash developed.  But I had a pretty severe rash 2 years ago, I'll leave out the details, it was a pretty disgusting rash.  I tried otc creams, neosporin, etc.... nothing worked.

My doctor prescribed me a cream called Fluocinonide, I used peroxide to rinse off the area and applied the cream, within a few day's it was gone, but I still have a scar on the side of my knee where the rash was, that's how bad it was.

Hope information was helpful.

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
The rash could be Herpes Shingles as it came after a course of antibiotic. It could be dermatitis or psoriasis.
Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage without examining you. Do consult a skin specialist for this. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
