VITAMEN OVERDOSE

One of my doctors had mentioned to start taking vitamens E and C.  I currently am taking e-400 IU and c-500 mg.  My immune is definetly low and they suspect an autoimmune disease.  Would it be okay to take it twice daily instead of once daily.  Would there be an overdose issue?  I am also am taking a daily prenatel.

Since your doc suggested your taking these supplements, it is best to ask him/her about the suggested dosage.  Vitamin C is a water soluable vitamin and overdose isn't usually a probem. Vitamin E has a blood-thinning capability, so doseage should be controlled depending on your health needs.

Yes, there is an overdose issue. It is unwise to take more than 600 IU vitamin E. It interferes with blood clotting. It is not so much a question of an overdose, in the sense of causing death. Think about taking fish oils or cod liver oil in lieu of the vitamin E. High dose vitamin C is a diuretic, and sometimes causes dehydration.
