Victoria Secret Bra Allergy

Hello everyone:

Can you say "Class Action Lawsuit" against Victoria Secret!  I am here to tell you that I have been suffering from an itchy rash for 6 weeks.  I have been to my general practioner, breast surgical oncologist, mammogram and ultra sound doctor and infectious disease doctor to try to find out what is causing this rash on my breast. I have been on antibiotics for a month and I am so happy to find this site.  I have been tested for inflammatory breast cancer with a biopsy due to this rash and I am done and ready to fight with Victoria Secret about this!  Lets please get together and fight this epidemic of women who pay high prices and get dangerous bras.  Please contact me @ this posting and lets get a list together and go after this corporation.   Thank you...

WOW! So glad that I stumbled across this site,I have been wracking my brain about what the matter was concerning my severe itching under breasts and welts and  to think my VS bras were the culprit all along(?) UHHHG!!!! @at $50-$60 a pop you'd think they'd be more selective in the quality of materials used.

I can't believe how many others are having problems with this company's garments!  I've been a loyal customer of theirs for nearly 20 yrs. now, and am outright disgusted how the quality has diminished!  I've had garments fall apart on me after the VERY FIRST WASH!  And I, too, have now had a rash for the past, I dunno, 6 weeks or so?  I can't get rid of it, and I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out what was causing it!  I thought it was just dry skin!  I'm LIVID!

I also have several bras with the wire poking out of them (some I've even sewn by hand, and still they haven't held together, that I was planning on sending back with a complaint to their corporate office.)

I'd love to hear more about a class action suit, if there's still one going on!!

Please keep me updated!!!!!!!!!

To all the women that have bruise like scars on their breasts from the VS bras, has anyone been able to get these to go away? Coritisone cream has not worked. I will try the aloe vera and see if that helps. Also, what bras have you switched to that do not cause this? FYI, I could use some "padding" as my breast are small.

Kath 999 I gave up too! I've have had these awful itching welps and now dark scars for at least two years now.  If anything, it's good to know I'm not alone...not that I desire this for anyone! I just hope they get to the bottom of it. Never again VS bras.

OMG,  I went to the doctor three different times about this and he gave me creams pills etc. We just couldn't figure out what it was. I have other allergies so I wasn't quite sure what it could've been. I am glad that I saw the news report on this because I would've continued to wear the bras not knowing what the problem was. I had extremely dark spots in the shape of the bottom of the bras underneath both breasts, I had itching, dryness, the skin started to split open and it would peel also. I even had an abscess at the bottom of my armpit.
Something has to be done.

I keep searching medhelp about this issue and there are alot of posts.  I too am one of the suffer's of this rash from the VS bra's.  After having the rash for over a year, I just gave up and have tried to live with it.  Now to think that my bra's are the cause and not the seasonal roseace that the doctor said it was.  The itching and burning and peeling of my skin under my breasts is enough to drive anyone nuts and when I read the article, I finally thought to myself, thank God someone figured it out.

Add me to the list.

I also had no idea what I was experiencing. I thought it was me who had cause this irritating itching, discoloration, and swelling of my breast. I had a mammagram done 10-29-08. I am schedule today 11-11-08 to have an ultrasound did. I was lying in bed this morning when I over heard the news. I can't believe this is happening. I am a very healthy woman. I take good care of my body. This is ashame when we pay for high quality merchandise and end up with a raw deal any how. I want to be a part of the lawsuit. I am hurt and angry.

The same is happening with the Lane Bryant bras too.  I have welts, permanent scarring, and a rash on my sides under my arms and back.  When looking at the bra, there is some type of gel going around the inside of the bra.  I have literally had to have my husband slowly peel off that portion of the bra because it was so painful.  And the areas constantly itches.

Ouch!

This is absolutely unreal and surreal. I have been sick with rashes and hives for over a month missed time from work been to the doctor for this excruciating illness. I was in fear of dying from an incurable disease. I had to drink and pop benadryl while working. I had to take antihistimine on a daily basis. I had welts under my breast, redness itchy blotches. At first I thought the bra was to tight but once you get hives its unbearable to wear anything tight because of the itching and welts. I have a 16-year-old son who I had to get  to rub alovera on my back and shoulders. He was disgusted to feel the heat and the redness on me. For the last 2 wks I stop wearing my favorite bras and the welts, hives and redness under my breast subsided after many weeks of suffering. I was so glad I saw the news this morning.

I've given up on Victoria Secret. Their bras are always uncomfortable and they never have the bigger sizes I need. I stumbled upon a brand called Panache, and it's soooooo much better.

I am so glad that I am not the only one going through this. I thought i was going crazy!! I dont wear my VS bras anymore because they got bloody when i started getting these rashes on me and they would start bleeding. I cant wear the shirts i used to, because i know that everyone is looking at my chest and not for the other reasons. I am african american and my rashes went from red to dark black after they "healed". I lost my job and had no insurance to go to the doctor. I looked up rashes and scars on the chest and found nothing but cancer scares. I am ready to take action on this one. That is unbelieveable that it was positve for formaldehyde!! I dont need to look that sexy for myself if thats the case!!! I still stick with walmart brands! I tried to get in contact with the reporters who wrote the stories but i cant find thier email addresses. Does anyone have this?

I am in shock. I have this "issue" with my breasts of redness, terrible itching, and now scarring that look like bruises. I wear the VS I have an appointment with my dermatologist next Friday and am going to show him this. I've seen an allergist, been on meds and cortisone cream but no luck.

Keep me posted and for now.. no VS bras whatsoever. (I'm in Texas)

Hi,

I been having rashes and hives for over one year and I thought it was me.

I've changed my diet and have been eating as bland as I can.
Also have been taking Benadryl for the hives.

But my problem is not with the bras it's with the panties. The elastic around the leg and waist are the problem. It seems that after a few washing when the elastic may be a bit exposed it's causing hives.

Horrible ill feeling hives, that take more than 24 hrs. to go away.

I'm now wondering if the panties were making me sick. I was suspicious and changed mfg.'s.

Hope this helps, I'll be joining the suit.

I had to stop buying Victoria Secret bras and I loved them. Every time I would buy one, a week later the wire would pop out and stab me. I have scars on my chest now and cannot get them to go away. I have tried everything. When my gyno gives me a breast exam, she always shakes her head when she sees them and says, "I cannot believe that". Besides rashes, did anyone else have this problem?

Hi - Please contact the reporter who broke the story based on the blog under victoria secret bra allergy and he will give you the attorney's name and phone number.  They are putting together a class action lawsuit and all of us should be apart of it.  I believe the attorney's name is Jim Climaco.  Join the revolution against them and fight this from happening to other women!

I too had a terrible rash that lasted for a month with welts and rashes that bled.  I have the bras, would not return them to Victoria's secret.  I heard of a possible class action lawsuit out of Ohio. I am very interested  in a class action lawsuit.
