I just saw a piece on tonights tv news about formaldihyde in Victoria Secret bras.  I wear one about half the time. I have had a rash on my shoulder blade where my bra strap rubs for a long time.  And I have had rashes on the lower part of my breasts.  I switch to another bra and it goes away.  I thought it was just a heat rash.  Could formaldihyde be in the strap as well?  That place on my shoulder blade is just weird and ever present.

Yikes!

Thanks for being here!

I went thru months with a welt that would be itchy and red on the side of one breast, same spot all the time, right where the uplift part of the Victoria's Secret bra support was. I wore the seamless no wire Victoria's Ipex and Embrace.   On my own I switched to a no seam mostly cotton bra.

Anything breast related causes much concern.  I made an emergency appointment with my gyno which was followed by a mammogram and sonogram to rule out inflammatory breast cancer, which I convinced myself I had.  Alot of undue duress if you ask me!  I am not the "sueing" kind, but my appointmets were all documented, I probably have a case if I wanted to pursue it, I am just grateful is was only a "rash". Thankfully I was told it was just a skin irritation.

Hearing the news today is a crazy relief, because even after knowing the results were negative one still wonders if something was missed.

How can I get in the suit also.?
I have dealt with this rash for about 1 yr now, I thoght when I first got it heat rash, but then it would not go away it fades but is still there. My doctor gave me a cream and said it was a fungus, I thought no way why all of a sudden and where in the heck did this come from, I have done the same thing changed bras laundry soaps etc. It is still strong mine is like a blood red when I get out of the shower with tiny blisters and the itch so awful. Like I said it will fade but always comes back.
Please give me some info on where I can join. Or who I can talk to.

Thank You,

How do you know for sure that the bra is causing the problems?  I started having welts around my bra line last year and have been on 3 different meds to try to control the problem and it has helped but my Dr. was not sure what caused it.  For a while it was so bad that I could not were a bra.  I never really paid attention to which bra I was wearing.  I don't wear the same one everyday?  I would like to get off the meds but every time I have the welts return.

I cannot believe this!!!!  I have been suffering from hives since April.  I have the VS Secret Embrace bra and I loved wearing it so much, I wear it almost daily (except the days I wash it).  I broke out with welps all over my torso, under my armpits, under my breasts DAILY!!!!!!!!!!!  I thought my problem was anxiety related but after I was put on Zoloft from the doctor, that still did not help.  I returned to the doctor and they placed me on prednizone for 5 days.  That worked the first day but the second day I was even more miserable.  I called the doctor back and was put on a higher dosage of predinzone in combination with Zantac (something about Zantac having a histamine blocker in it).  That didn't work either.  The hives are terrible, uncomfortable and have made me miserable for months.  I actually have an allergy appointment scheduled this month.  I really feel that I may be one of those impacted by this bra!!!!  I have been so miserable I would LOVE to find out any information on this suit directly from the lawfirm itself.  How do I contact them??????  I am not sure if I want to join the suit but definitely want the info.

I thought I was going crazy.  It started in September 2008,as a small spot on my left breast about the size of a dime is has since grown to a little larger than a silver dollar.  There have been welts, burning and the itching is insane!  I was split emotionally this morning when I heard I am not alone!  I do not wish this upon my worst enemy but thrilled to hopefully find out my breast is not decaying from the inside outor that I have Lyme's Disease!  I purchsed the bras in September right before this started! Shame on you Victoria!

My story sounds like all the above.  I am allergic to formaldehyde and cannot wear nail polish because of it.  I am so glad that I am not going insane and there is a possible reason for my rash.  How do you go about testing the bras for formaldehyde?
I am not sue happy, but IF they knew about it...then they should be in trouble.  If they didn't know, then I probably wouldn't join the suit.  I wonder if it is in the padding/foam that they use?  That wouldn't wash out as much as if in the fabric.  Hmmm.

I watched the news about this the day following the original story release and they said the company may be using formaldehyde to keep the wrinkles out of the bras.  Apparently, it has been used in other countries for this purpose.  Don't really know where that would be...in the padding/foam or the fabric itself.

Does anyone know if the formaldehyde is used in the panties as well?  I have been in and out of the doctor's office around the time I purchased 5 new pairs of vs panties with burning and irritation.  The doctor's have tested me for everything and say nothing is wrong with me. I even got a second oppinion.  I am so frustrated! After hearing all the problems with the bra's yesterday I have stopped wearing the panties.  Any information would be great.
