Wasp Sting - 10 days ago

Hi, I got stung by a wasp 10 days ago on my ankle.  It was hurting and swollen for a day or so then went.  Over the last couple of days the area around the sting has become itchy.  However yesterday and today the area is red, itchy and has a rash/hives (looks like a nettle rash) around it.  Do I need to do anything further or will this just stop/go away?

Hi, welcome to the forum, with wasp sting, the symptom varies from minor bite pain to life threatening anaphylactic shock. The types of manifestations encountered are local reactions, systemic allergic reactions, toxic reactions, and delayed reactions.

According to your history it suggests 'local reactions'. There can be swelling, erythema, and pain, affecting areas that are contiguous with the sting site. Local reactions can arise in about 10 percent of insect stings

Anti histaminics with appropriate steroid therapy will help to alleviate the symptoms.
I suggest you to consult immunologist for detailed evaluation. Take care and regards.

Call Dr but I would take oral benadryl and apply ice packs and also put topical benadryl on effected area.
