Water Pill

I forgot to take my lisinopril/hhctz 4 days and then I took a dose.  Sever headach and loose stools resulted.  Is this related?

Hi, welcome to the forum, lisinopril and hydrochorthiazide as good safety profile. Headache and passage of loose stools is unlikely to be caused by the above drugs.

The loose stools can be due to infection and can be associated with headache esp. with electrolyte depletion. The causative agents are

- Bacteria like Salmonella, Shigella, Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli, vibrio;
-Virus - Norovirus Rotavirus, Adenovirus and
- Parasitic infection - Cryptosporidium Giardia Cyclospora Entamoeba histolytica.

Stool sample should be sent for culture and microscopy to rule out the pathogen. At the same time, you need to take lots of fluids preferably Oral rehydration solution. I suggest you to consult Physician and take appropriate antibiotics. Take care and regards.
