Weaning off Cortef

I have been on 20mg of Cortef for 3 years and am currently trying to wean off it. this is extremely difficult as my blood pressure is low and i am very weak for about 10 days each time I reduce the dose (I'm going down 2.5 mg each month. Can you suggest anything to support my system while I am weaning off the Cortef?

I know that this was posted awhile ago, so it's probably moot by this point, but in case somebody else with the same problem reads this, I would suggest starting a milder adrenal support such as Isocort as you're weaning off of the Cortef. You can also try taking licorice as this can help with the low blood pressure.

Hi,

It would not be advisable to try anything without a physician consultation and supervision.

Since how long have you been on the hydrocortisone ( cortef) medication? Why had you been prescribed it?

It would help to consult your physician for the right approach in tapering off the medication.

Let us know how you are doing and also what your physician advises.
