Hi,

Thanks for writing.

Burning sensation in the chest is usually acidity or heart burn and should be ruled out first. Any antacid will ease the symptoms. However, please consult your physician. Antibiotics and steroids are at times used to treat allergic bronchitis if the condition is severe or if there is a possibility of infection. Both these medications cause heart burn or can aggravate an existing but mild heart burn.

Another possibility is esophageal reflux, where the food in your stomach is thrown up into your food pipe or esophagus. This also causes burning in the chest area.

Please discuss all these possibilities with your treating doctor. If you need more help, please feel free to contact. I’ll be happy to answer your queries.
