Why are we itching?

My boyfriend and I are itching uncontrollably at times lately. He said he was itchy a few months ago but not like now and I have just started itching. We haven't changed laundry soap, body wash, or anything we can put our finger on to be the culpret. No sores, pus, etc. We do live in an apt complex and share a laundry facility. Anyone got any ideas to the cause or treatment?

My Mom and I have started having uncontrollable itching. We have tried changing bath soaps, laundry detergents, and lotions. It is so bad that even anti-histamines and hydrocortisone doesn't work. There are no lesions or sores, just itching on legs, back and belly. My Mom thinks it is the water, but I just moved from DFW and I was itching there. This started about a month ago. I have never experienced anything like this before.

Hi,

Are there any lesions anywhere on your body? What are the palces where the itching is the maximum? For how long have you noticed these symptoms?

You could take some oral antihistamine or antiallergic medications to help with your symptoms and also apply calamine lotion at the sites of the lesions.

It would be best to consult an allergy specialist or dermatologist for your symptoms and also ask your doctor if any tests need to be done.

Let us know if you have any more doubts and keep us posted about how you both are doing.

Hope this helps.

Regards.
