allergic to almost everything

I have become allergic (through the years) to msg in foods. I get 'chemical' headaches from chemicals that I smell
or eat. I cannot take statins or niospan for my high cholestrol . allergic to spices and herbs. statinsand niospan caused itching and breaking out the rest causes the tissues around the skull to swell and the pressure is great. My kidneys are beginning to hurt and kidney infections are getting more frequent.

I'm finally diagnosed and mine is food allergies.  It's more common than they used to believe!  Wheat/gluten is a huge allergen for many people, and it's finally being recognized.  It sounds tragically inconvenient, but avoiding problem foods makes me feel so much better it's actually worth it.  Once I learned my food allergens and avoided them, all my allergies diminished.

My father is 63 year old retired has severe itching all over for 2 1/2 years.  It is more prominent in the summer months with severe swelling, redness, and pain. He itches all over with his arms and neck showing severe irritation. He has had 2 skin bx done a year apart showing spongitic dermitis.  He has no underlining hx.  When he goes in the sun with spf 70 for 10-20 min, he has a severe reaction. He has never had problems in the sun and is a very dark complected man. All medication have been stoped recently with no relief.  He has seen 2 allergiest, cardiologist, PCP and 2 dermatologist no one can figure it out.  He does not sleep  but for 45 min a day.  Next step is Infectious disease doctor next week.  Any tips or recommendatons????????  He has also tried mutiple creams and Prednisone nothing works .  Need to find cause and not continuing to treat the symptoms that is not working anyhow

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi, welcome to the forum, you have a positive history of allergy, in such circumstances you need to keep track of all the things you are allergic to, this things are termed as allergen.

The take home steps that you need to take are
- Allergen avoidance- You need to find the allergen and you need to avoid further exposure. Keep a diary of all the things you are exposed to rule out the allergens.
-  Allergy evaluation - You need to consult allergy specialist for evaluation of the allergen by skin testing. A history of concomitant rhinitis, asthma, or systemic allergic will be useful to know the allergen.

Kidney infection or urinary tract infection is not related to your allergy, it is an independent factor. Recurrent urinary tract infection is common in presence of Anatomic abnormalities resulting in obstruction, stasis, or reflux of urinary flow all predisposes towards recurrent urinary infections. Even reduced immunity due to systemic infection is also responsible for these conditions.

I suggest you to undergo radio graphic imaging kidney and urinary tract, complete blood count, peripheral smear and ESR. I suggest you to consult physician.

Take care and regards.
