HIS SYMPTOMS WHEN EATING CHICKEN WOULD BE THAT HE SAYS HIS THROAT HURT AND HE
GETS A BUMP INSIDE HIS LIP THAT WE VISIBLY COULD SEE.
ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO WE CHANGED HIS DOCTOR BECAUSE HE ***** AND WE HAD SOME OTHER ISSUES WITH HIM. ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO WE GAVE HIM SHRIMP AT APPLEBYS AND HE WAS COMPLAIN OF THROAT PAIN. WE BROUGHT HIM INTO THE NEW DOCTOR AND HE GAVE US A REFERRAL TO A BOARD CERTIFIED ALLERGIST. HE DID A SKIN TEST THAT PRODUCED SOME SMALL BUMPS ON THE SUSPECT ALLERGIES BUT NOT AS LARGE AS THEY SHOULD BE FOR SOMEONE WITH ALLERGIES TO THAT FOOD.
HE ORDERED THE BLOOD TEST AND THE RESULT SHOWED SLIGHTLY ELEVATED LEVEL BUT NOT NO WHERE CLOSE TO WERE THEY WOULD BE FOR SOMEONE WHO IS ALLERGIC. HE TOLD US TO REINTRODUCE THESE FOODS TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS. HE STILL GETS A BUMP ON HIS MOUTH AND COMPLAINS OF THROAT PAIN.
TODAY HE TOLD US AN ICE CREAM MADE HIS THROAT HURT.
A FEW DAYS AGO IT WAS A MCDONLDS CHESEBURGER THAT HE MUST HAVE ATE 5 IN THE LAST MONTH WITH NO PROBLEM.
HE ASKS FOR THE BENADRYL AND HIS THROAT STOPS HURTING.
DOES ANYONE SOME OF THIS MIGHT BE PHYSIOLOGICAL INDUCED?
Try corn allergies. My son is allergic anything corn. The chicken nugget have corn in them so does ice cream. Corn can be anything thing from corn, corn syrup, corn starch, xanthan gum etc. Corn is in so much, so if he is allergic to corn do a lot of research because it's even in cough syrup.
Hello,
As your son is having symptoms of food allergy to variable foods,so it could be due to any of the constituents of these foods to which he is allergic.Skin tests and blood tests are good for air borne allergies but for food allergies, food challenge tests and elimination diets are the best. That is the reason that the allergist has asked you to reintroduce these foods.I would suggest that you comply with this allergist’s advise as he is going in the right direction and also ensure that your son carries epipen as sometimes these allergies can turn out to be serious particularly when they involve the vocal cords or respiratory muscles.
