allergy medication and hair loss

Hello,

I have the following two questions about nasal anti allergy sprays:

1. As I understand, sprays such as Nasonex are steroid based. It is known that some steroids can cause hair loss.
My question is, can nasonex cause hair loss?

2. Is it safe to use nasonex for prolonged periods of time (several years)?

Thanks!

Hi

Thanks for the post!

Hair loss with Nasonex is not a reported side effect. However if you are facing this problem do let your doctor know. Generally the prescribed dose in very minute so it will not cause any harm in long term use. However please use only when required, that is you would have identified the seasons when you have problems of allergy. Use only the prescribed dose for the prescribed time period.

Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else. Take care!
