allergy vs poor circulation problems

I have been experiencing my hands swelling on many occassions when I go walking. Sometimes my feet do too. I do have many allergies but I feel this is more to do with circualation. I do have hypothyroidism as well but that is under control and seems to be doing fine. The problem is that I have had this for over a year now and my hands and sometimes my feet swell horribly and itch. If I come home and use a benadryl spray or just use cold water the itching will stop, but the swelling will be there for about a hour after. I don't have to be walking. If I take a shower in the morning and it's real hot my feet will start to swell and itch. The problem is not going away but getting progressively worse. I went to my GP and she wanted me to try taking an allergy medicine before I go out walking, I took it about an hour before and the itching never came but the swelling and pressure where still there. I'm worried there is something serious and I don't know where to turn to for a specialist. I'm not convinced it's allergies even though I have many, because it doesn't matter what time of year or state I am in the same thing happens. Any advise would be great.

Hi too experience some of the same symptoms but I do not have the swelling.  When walking up hills or steps, my arms feel very heavy and get a tingling sensation down to my finger tips.  I also have hypothyroidism under control by meds.  I have been to alot of specialist, went to a neurologist and have perphial neuropathy which he says may cause some of the symptoms but he is not sure.  Also on cymbalta and benicar HCT.  Don't know if it meds or what is going.  My meds have been switched around alot over the past year and it is getting very expensive to keep going to drs.  I also have allergies, mild asthma and bronchitis.  It could be that you need a stronger thyroid medication.  It is good to know, no matter how annoying the symptoms are, that there is someone else experiencing similar symptoms.
