can a person get liver damage from 1 dose of a medication

I have searched the internet and can't find an answer.  I took a dose 2mg. of suboxone.  This was for pain, perscribed by a doctor who has known me for a decade.  There is absolutely NO addiction involved.  For the last year I had only taken aspirin occasionally and had relied solely on accupunture.
Within 30 minutes, I began vomiting.  This went on for hours.  I have for 5 days now remained weak, nausiated, completely not myself with a feeling of dread, unable to eat almost unable to function.  Can a person sustain liver damage from one dose of a medication?  If so what is the prognosis?  I have seen a doctor in the emergency room, and at a clinic.  Both told me to drink lots of water and take medicine to relieve symptoms.  I am not ok.  Please help.
