Well, I have been having noseNose fracture trouble for like the past six or seven months. Started with decreased sense of smellSmell - impaired Stools - foul smelling pressure around the bridge of my nose, strange smell in my nose, some stuffiness and swalling a lot fo phlem in the back of my throat. My regualr doctor gave me nasonex to try which did nothing. She then referred me to an ENT he gave allegra, nothing. I also got a CT of my sinuses and an MRI, still nothing no infection. He tried steroids to reduce inflammation, didn't help. Nothing is working and now i can't smell and the pressure is constant and radiates above my eyes and I get headaches. He never tried allergy test or antibotics, he just said he doesn't know. Needless to say I am going for a second opinion. I did do some research on my own there is non-allergic infectious rhinitis which mimics a sinus infection but doesn't show up on x-rays and can be treated with antibotics. It is very frustrating but I am going to see someone else and I suggest you go get a second opinion too and maybe suggest treatment with antibotics or an allergie test and a CT scan of your sinuses. Possibly blood test to make sure nothing else is going on
I would ask an allergist or your GP to do a sinus 'culture' as Staph can stay with you a loooong time and go unnoticed. Only a culture of your sinus cavity tissue will confirm ongoing problems...Keep us posted!
This is what it is sounding like to me. It sounds to me that the problem isn't necessarily what the doctors are trying to diagnose. What is going on with you both sounds to me like something I've seen many times and is actually quite common among normal people, and the only thing that is different is in how each person reacts to it.
What the problem is is an overload and constant exposure to a lot of bad air. With the quality of air being what it normally is in homes this is not a hard explanation to believe, as the average air quality in the home can actually be quite a bit worse than even the worst outdoor air. I used to have problems with the air in my own home before I talked with a colleague of mine and she told me about this problem that is quite common to most people. Therefore I researched both this problem and the common remedy to it, which is air filtration.
What the best product within the field of air filters is something called a Polarized Media Filter, which creates a static field around the filter that attracts particles to the fibers of the filter. It's quite amazing how it works and I found it a fascinating study. After I purchased it I found the effects to be quite satisfactory as I no longer had the problems that I had before. So I readily suggest it to you.
The best place for price that I've found is at www.airlifeone.com. I'd also look for the Electrobreeze brand which will give you a better price for the same product as the other one. Don't quite know why the other one is there if the only difference is price, but it's not my business so I'm just not sure.

Well, I hope that this has helped.
