claritin

My husband took claritin and ever since has had the opposite reaction.
Instead of clearing up a runny nose, he's had constant need of kleenex and sneezing... any suggestions?

Claritin is pretty useless for me as well.  The only kinds of antihistamines that work for me are the ones that have a sedating effect, like Benadryl.  You can actually ask your doctor for a prescription for Benadryl and buy it from the pharmacy.  Your insurance still won't pay for it, but it's less expensive to buy it this way than it is over the counter.

Hello Friend,

I would suggest you to go and see your doctor first before taking any drug. After consulting your doc, he will write you a prescription and you can get medicine easily. Else you can go to any reputed online pharmacy like http://www.bestgenericdrugs.net and buy from them easily. I had tried them and they are good.

Sounds like your husband may need to see an allergist so he can try some different antihistimnes.  We all react differently to different meds.  Claritin does nothing for me or my hubby, but works wonders for others.  Zyrtec (a prescription antihistimine) works great for us.  Some others find that Allegra works well.

Another thing that works for some folks with a runny nose is Astellin nasal spray or nasal steroid sprays.

Good luck!
