They have done multiple test and can't figure out why I keep getting broncitis. Someone told me to blog allergies to memory foam. It was amazing to see all my symtoms right on these blogs. I have a memory foam mattress!! I have just stopped sleeping on it last night, so I don't know if that it my problem, but I will try anything at this point
Hi your mum could also be allergic to something she has eaten, as normally it can take from instantly eating to up to 4 hrs to see the symptoms, ie coughing, nose running, wheezing and many more symptoms does your mum have any more symptoms ie like aches, pains in joints, any skin problems? Allergies can cause all sorts of things, my daughter 17mths as reflux which can be aggrivated or caused by allergies. I suggest she gets some allergy tests done on everything. Sharon x

Hello,
Going by the symptoms that your mother is having, I think that she is allergic to molds which are usually found in the ac’s. Molds, plants in the fungus family, grow where it's dark and moist. They can grow in shower stalls, refrigerators, houseplants, or air conditioners.
Diagnosis is by skin ***** or patch tests. In these tests, a small amount of allergen is injected into the skin of the forearm by a doctor. If you are allergic to molds then you will develop a red, itchy bump on the site if injection. Confirmatory test is by blood tests (RAST).
Treatment includes avoidance of allergen. Maintain/clean dehumidifiers and air conditioners regularly. Air filters of the ac trap allergens, like molds, dust and pollen. When the filters do not work properly, allergens may be released into the air, causing typical allergy symptoms, such as watery eyes, runny nose, and wheezing. Wash shower curtains, bathroom tiles, and grout regularly and use a dehumidifier in your house.
You can use OTC antihistaminic like benadryl, zyrtec.Nasal decongestants and corticosteroids are also useful. If there is any difficulty in breathing then bronchodilators can be used. In severe cases, Immunotherapy is advised.
Sometimes the phenomenon of cross reactivity is seen. People who are allergic to molds may also show allergy to dust mites and pollen. So pls try to avoid them as much as possible.
Take care and do keep us posted on how your mother is doing.
Btw, you never want to completely dry them up that is bad as well. Your sinuses must drain. But to get that phlegm to stop the cough You have too. Ask your doc for a nasal spray, those are good for short term, but mine caused oral thrush, so be careful!
It does sound like allergies. I have the same problem when air is on. I hate it they drain so bad at times. Tell her to just try a saline rinse. I would advise nettipot, or ent gave me sinusmed rinse. Just contains baking powder, and salt. It works great. I gurantee thats the problem as long as she isn't taking any medicines. I have tried everything over the counter as well. She sounds like me. I would ask if she could taek something stronger Only thing that dried up my nose was behind the counter stuff, it contained like 240. Zyrtec. It is once a day good luck!
