excessive skin itching

by auto, Aug 07, 2006 12:00AM
For about the last month my family and I have had excessive skin itching.  Me especially, I will scratch and then cannot stop.  We are using the same soap that we always have been, so I know its not that.  and we use all natural laundry detergent, (no dyes, etc....).  I'll scratch a simple itch on my head, then it gets hot and I can't stop, it seems the more I scratch the more it itches.  Please any answers will help.   thanks!!

Has there been a change in your water? My husband and I had quite a few problems with itching like this when the city was working on the pipes and sewage lines. They said that they had a higher than normal mineral count, but everything was withing normal range. Strangely, I also had problems with my dishwasher around the same time (everything had a film over it). The problem lasted until the city's work was completed and hasn't happened again since. Good luck. I know it can drive a person crazy!
