flu shot Vs sinuses

I've had sinuses problem for many years now. they get infected begining of every winter season. Last winter i took a flu shot,; strangely it was the year i suffered most from my sinuses infection.. it stayed with me throughout the winter till late spring. I am wondering, did the flu shot have anything to do with this? thx, kkanaan

Hi,
Bacteria that normally cause chronic sinusitis are  Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, Staphylococcus aureus, fungi and anaerobes. Exposure to these organisms increases sinusitis infection. It is also possible that exposure to allergens and irritants are responsible. There are not enough evidence showing that flu shots are related to increased sinus infection. I hope this helps. Take care and regards.
