What kind of fungal infection is your brother having and at what body parts?Pls elaborate.

Mostly fungal infections are diagnosed by KOH examination of the skin scrapings or scrapings of the tissue involved.Fungal culture is the investigation of choice.Treatment is by topical and oral antifungal drugs.

my 59 year old brother was admitted to hospital..chronic cough chest pain ct showed lg mass upper rt lobe. After being scoped the found calcified lesion middle lobe was not able to get into lower due to obstruction and bleeding. Today they said what ever it is it is on the outside of lung also..not sure what it is they may call in CDC. he has been exposed in past to asbestos, car fire where he had breathing issues since then 2 -3 years ago. the did biopsies washings and brushings. Was asked if he had been out of country..NO. a
