hair allergies

hi, i am 16 years and i have been loosing hair recently which i believe is because of some allergic reaction. This is the second time it has happen and after this time i found that i am allergic D-Panthenol which is in some hair creams and gels. i don't use products with D-panthenol any more but after the last time i used it, my hair is falling at a terrible rate so i would be really happy to hear some suggestions on how i could stop the hair fall and go back to my natural hair... last time henna helped a lot in reducing hair loss... also is this type of hair loss common and is it possible for it to return to its original???

Hi,

Have you had allergic reactions in the past? Are you allergic to any specific substances?

Are you eating properly? You need to take vitamin and mineral supplements for any deficiencies in your diet. Eat a protein rich diet and drink plenty of water daily.

Use a mild shampoo and conditioner. Avoid excessive use of chemicals, hair colour, dyes etc on your hair.

Are you taking any medications currently?

You should consult an allergy specialist or trichologist for your symptoms and see what  they have to say.

This kind of hair fall is usually known to cease with the appropriate management and also the lost hair may regrow.

Let us know how you are doing and if you have any doubts.

Keep us posted about what your doctor advises.

Hope this helps.

Regards.
