high aso titre

Dear Doctor

My daughter is 4 years 6 months old.She always suffer from tonsillitis.Recently Doctor advised for Allergic test and ASO Titre.She is  allergic to Milk,Banana,Egg,Mutton and dust.Her Aso Titre is more than 400 but less than 800.
Doctor prescribed Roxithromycin 7 ml BD for 10 days and then Pentids 200 BD for 3 months along with Iron Tonic ,Multivitamin and Ketotifen.
Is the treatment ok???

High ASO titre is of extreme importance in <15 years age group and are a marker of streptococcal infection. Group A Streptococcus is responsible for diseases such as glomerulonephritis, rheumatic fever, bacterial endocarditis, and scarlet fever. The ASO level is usually less than 160 Todd units per milliliter. In your daughter’s case the level is high. Hence antibiotics have been prescribed and must be taken along with iron and multivitamin. ASO levels peak at about 4 to 6 weeks after the illness and then taper off.  The ASO can be detected for several months after the strep infection has resolved.
