I'm on hypertension meds too. One side effect is dehydration therefore making sure you maintain a good intake of water is important and you won't get that cough or least, cough less. Make sure you speak to your Dr.

I believe you are not that predisposed to have cough when you take amlodipine because unlike losartan, it does not predisposed you to have infections that causes cough. Nevertheless, before switching medications you have to consult with your physician first.
