I have had 3 done for coeliac testing and I can tell you it does take a while for the gas to dissipate. You might find drinking peppermint tea or sucking on peppermint sweets will help the pains. If you can pass wind (f-a-r-t) then all the better! Often biopsies done in the intestines hurt for a while as they heal up too. I have had them as well.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It is common to find bloating after colonoscopy. This is because of carbon dioxide gas being pumped into the colon forms air pockets that causes bloating, abdominal cramping and gas pains. You should take a walk daily to encourage passage of this gas through flatulence.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
