Here is a link to website that has a blood test you can do at home, and send back to them. You would have to pay out of pocket for it though, but I think it is supposed to be simple to do.

Food allergies are usually pretty easy to find, but bothersome to identify. Eczema that is usually restricted to one area of the skin may also be caused by a topical agent allergy. What do you put on the faceFace pain and not the rest of the body? Do you wash with a "special" soap, or use a wet sort of wipe? Maybe a wash cloth? It could still have some soap in it not rinsed out in the washing machine. Maybe a sunscreen? A lotion? Have you checked the pillow the child uses? Does he have a special "blankie" that he rubs on his face? Do you use tissues for his nose, or maybe he hugs a stuffed animal with the allergin on it? Does he use a deodorant soap or an anti-bacterial soap? Often kids have problems with bubble bath or soaps with perfume in them on the face and not the rest of the body. Take away everything that normally touches his face for at least a week, or when his face gets better, re-introduce each item until he has a reaction. Make sure you try everything for a reaction, there is a chance it may be more than one thing, but a combination of different things or food. Good luck
I am allergic to citric acid and found it to be in EVERYTHING not limited to food, but also soaps, detergents, lotions, etc. I too get a rash on my face... It sometimes starts as bumps, but then gets flakey. Is that what it looks like???
Eczema is not an allergic reaction to a substance, but it can be provoked by allergens in your baby's environment or diet — or in your diet if you're breastfeeding. The rash can also be aggravated by heat, irritants that come in contact with your baby's skin (like wool or the chemicals in some soaps, lotions, and detergents), changes in temperature, and dry skin.Ref: http://www.babycenter.com/0_eczema_10872.bc
If you think that your baby is having food allergy, then food challenge tests will be the best for confirming the foods to which he is allergic. However, aproximately 90 percent of all food allergies are caused by milk, peanuts, eggs, wheat, soy, treenuts and shellfish. Can you identify any of these?
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how your child is doing or if you have any additional queries
