latex allergy and avocado

I have multiple allergies. Among them, an oral allergy syndrom (syndrome) to some fruits and nuts. I have it for avocado. I know that avocado allergy can go with latex allergy but it is not 100%. Because of this my allergist tested me for latex allergy with a skin ***** test and it was negative. Am I supposed to have other tests done and can I expose myself safely to latex (I never had any reaction to latex except some minor prurit but it seems that since I have dry skin and eczema these could be the culprits)?

Hi,

It would be best to avoid use of latex products if possible.

You are right that the symptoms of itching could also be due to the dry skin and eczema.

But it could also be that you have an allergic reaction to latex -it would be best to avoid use of latex gloves and use non latex gloves and also carry an antihistamine or antiallergic medication handy in case of a sudden allergic reaction.

Consult your doctor whether you need to carry an epi-pen or not.

Let us know if you have any other doubts and post us on how you are doing.

Regards.
