levaquin

i was taking levaquin for 7 days. began having leg cramps in my tendons. i have stopped. will i be subject to future problems with my tendons?

Hello,

Levaquin is notorius for casing swelling in the tendons esp in the tendons of the lower limb and heel..It is an important side effect of this drug. This effect may be more likely to occur if you are over 60, if you take an oral steroid medication, or if you have had a kidney, heart, or lung transplant.

Since you have stopped taking Levaquin,so definitely the symptoms should improve in a few days.Apply warm compresses and take some anti-inflammatory after consulting your doctor.If the symptoms worsen then pls get an orthopedic evaluation as tendon rupture has to be ruled out.
