Hello, I am at a loss and thought I would ask if anyone else had any ideas on my daughter's rash. My daughter is 19 months old and has developed a rash that started on her knees, it was skin colored and did not bother her, so I waited to see if it was just dry skin and would go away on its own. After a week and a half it was still there and spreading on her legs a little on her belly and back. I took her to dr who told me she had scabies(although not exactly what I wanted to hear) I treated her for it and did all the protocols for cleaning. The rash stayed the same for 2 days then it got markedly worse it spread all over her feet, arms, wrists, legs, belly, back, and now it was starting to itch. So I took her back in to the dr and he again said it was scabies retreat her. I refused at first and asked him to refer her to dermatologist he did but they can't see her for a month so I retreated her for scabies and hoped maybe I was wrong but two days after treatment her rash is getting worse again spreading to her hands and diaper area and is now itching her really bad. I plan on taking her to dr tom to again see what he had to say and maybe get him to refer to an allergist. These are the things I do know that may or may not help.
She has had the rash for over 3 weeks now
We have not introduced any new foods, soaps, etc to our home
She did not itch in the beginning now she does
She has two older sisters and a babysitter but those are the only people besides her dad and I who have contact with her she does not go to daycare and no one else in the family had any symptoms
We did get a new sandbox a few days before the rash which all the kids use except the baby she doesn't like the feeling of the sand
She was on antibiotics for ear infection but it was a month before the rash started
She is otherwise healthy baby although is beginning to be a little crankier then usual
She is allergic to milk but that is all as far as we know
The rash is hard to describe, it started out skin colored tiny bumps, now it is red sometimes and skin colored sometimes it is very small bumps husband says it looks kind of like poison ivy bumps or maybe heat rash bumps
Any help would be appreciated I am at my wits end and just want my little girl to get better.
