nuvaring and latex

Due to the fact that the lame pharmaceutical companies put talc or lactose in all the different bc pills I cannot have them.and he wants me to try nuvaring for treating my endometriosis. I am allergic to many things including latex. The nuvaring says  it is latex free but the main ingredient ethylene vinyl acetate can be used to make latex:
http://www.polysciences.com/Core/Display.aspx?pageId=98&categoryId=303&productId=2447
to quote: "Just add water to this solid grade polymer and it quickly responds by dispersing into latex particles that are useful bonding agents in composites. After evaporation of the water, a solid article may be formed from admixtures of the polymer and other solid components."

This to me sound like I should avoid it like the plague. Have anyone of you who are allergic to latex ever tried nuvaring and if so what were the results?

Thanks,

I have a latex allergy and have to be careful with many everyday products (earplugs, latex condoms, gloves, some clothing, balloons, band-aids, mattresses, etc.), as well as allergies to bananas and avocados (cross reactive proteins to natural rubber). I do not have any issues with my NuvaRing.

I have a mild reaction to latex (mild skin irritation) and I have not had any problems with the ring so far.

I am also allergic to latex and tried the NuvaRing and had quite a severe latex allergic reaction to it. I ripped my Gyno a new one after that happened. I understand that it's technically latex-free, but it contains the same main ingredient as latex (which is what caused the reaction) and I feel that needs to be mentioned on the box at least.

Thanks for responding. I am just getting off Lupron (with add-back which was compounded so I could take it) I was on it for a year. Do you have your cycle with the patch because I will need to. I cannot have Lupron anymore as it caused me to develop some osteopenia.

I am hoping to convince him to try so sort of bioidentical cream. He is a great doctor so I know he wants the best for me. He just gets frustrated (as I do) because everything that he wants to try I cannot have because of all the inactive ingredients that I am allergic to.

I have used it I found it very uncomfortable it never expanded back to how it should have and always felt like it was coming down. I am kind of appalled that they would put you on it for endo especially since it can irritate vaginal lining just from being up there have you ever considered the Implanon 3 year it works great it can be scary to some because they put it in your arm but let me tell you it was the best birth control I have ever had. Other wise the next step could be the lupron shot which puts you in a meno pause state for 1-2-3 months depending on the dose you get and then youi will also take a pill call the add back pill. Good Luck!!! And feel free to message me!!
