pet allergy

i have recently got rid of my cat witch i was allergic to i was and still are having asthma and difficulty breathing im a bit confused because my cat is know gone and although the symptoms have eased they have not gone altogether is this common?
how long am i to expect this to go on for can anybody help?

Hi,

It would take some time for you to be completely symptom free. It is also a possibility that your symptoms may still remain to osme extent. You are allergic to acts and could have those symptoms  with respect to some other substances also.

You should contiue taking your medications including oral antihistamine medications and inhalers and nasal sprays.

Follow up with your doctor regularly.

Hi Thanks for your help
I should have added this on my previous post i take inhaler and use Zirtek Antihistimine the inhaler has some effect but the Zirtek is useless i cant take anything that has a drowsy effect as im a proffesional Driver is there anything you could recommend that would help

Hi,

You should continue with the inhaler medications.

Try levocetrizine or loratadine - both of which are non sedating oral antihistamine medications.
