I'm sure there are many uses for prednisolone (an oral steroid.) I have had it prescribed for my bronchitis. It usually doesn't work for the wheeing and congestion, but it does help my MS for a few days, even at a very small dose. I believe it is usually used to clear up inflammation. I also had it once (or something very similar) believe, for optic neuritis. A doctor told me it was handed out like candy it was used so much. Hope this helps, Jane
Prednisolone is a treatment of a wide range of inflammatory and auto-immune conditions such as asthma. If you are an asthmatic and on this medication, it helps reduce inflamation in your bronchial tubes, so that you can breath better.
