rash on my back and chest

i went to the docters as i had a rash on my back which i thought was eczema and the docter prescribed it as very dry skin or eczema, he gave me a cream called cetraben emollient cream and i have been using it for over a week but have noticed a rash apear that is very itchy and little raised bumps and very red all over my back and chest were i had been using the cream, is this an allergic reaction to the cream or something else?

The rash with blisters and itching could be an allergy to the cream. It could also be Herpes, which affects a dermatome ie a section of the area supplied by a single nerve.
It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. Please discuss this with your doctor. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
