Hello,

Skin rash and itching are common side effects of sulfamethoxazole. Sulfamethoxazole should be stopped at the first appearance of a skin rash since the rash may become severe.Take some oral antihistaminic like benadryl ot Claritin(less sedative than benadryl) and apply calamine lotion or mild steroid cream like dermacort on the rash. Also pls stop taking sulfamethoxazole immediately and talk to your doctor and shift to some other antibiotic.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
