Do you have fever also(this is common with pneumonia) with a dry unproductive cough.  Inner ear due to a sinus issue can make you dizzy and your throat sore, see your MD is probably your best bet.

Hi, welcome to the forum, you may be having Globus sensation. This is mainly seen in gastro esophageal reflex disease or hyperplastic tonsil. The other possibilities are abnormal upper esophageal sphincter function, stress or psychological abnormality causes this sensation due to altered upper esophageal pressure.

You may need to undergo A 24hrs gastric pH and urease breath test with endoscopic evaluation which will help to diagnose acid-reflux disease and as well as esophageal pathology. You should stop taking spicy food, vinegar, alcohol, cigarette smoking if present.

Antacids and proton pump inhibitors will reduce the acidity for which consult a physician.  Take care and regards.
