shotness of breath

i  get short of breath at times have no coughing or whezzing went to er once in may dr said i had seasonal allergys (allergies) and seasonal asthma my dr sent me to a ent he did a laryngoscope said everything looked good gave me a saline sulution to wash my sinues out and a nasal spray to use since then the choking i had is better a inhaler helps my shortness of breath could this be allergys (allergies) or asthma i worry about copd.

This sounds very much like asthma.  You might consider seeing an allergist if you have significant issues with your allergies as shots me be a good option for you.  Also, you don't want to use a rescue inhaler (ProAir, Proventil, Maxair, Xopenex, Ventolin) on a regular basis, so your allergies may need more agressive treatment so that the asthma can be better controlled.  The goal is to use the rescue inhaler no more than twice a week.  If you are using a rescue inhaler more frequently than that, you need to discus more agressive treatment with your dr.  That could include allergy testing and shots, antihistamines (oral and nasal), nasal steroid, Singulair, an inhaled steroid (ICS) and a long acting broncho dilater.  I would try to stick with agressively treating the allergy trigger and see how much control that gives you.  This year you are behind and may need a controller inhaler to get things back under controll.  Next year plan on starting treatment about 2 weeks before your allergens become preveleant (early to mid-August) and see if that doesn't keep you from having the issues altogether.
