side effects from toxic fumes of new rubber tires

My husband was sitting outside putting together a garden cart from Lowe's when all of a sudden he felt funny and immediately got up to come in the house.  By the time he had walked 20ft to the front door he felt almost paralyzed from the waist up and could barely operate the door handle to come in.  He related to me that he was having pains in his chest and numbness down his arms and hands.  He told me that the fumes from the tires or the cart bed where 10X worse than walking into a tire store.  I called the ambulance and took his blood pressure  which was 171/90 pulse was 59 and his sugar was 77.  We had eaten lunch maybe 15mins before all this had happened.  I even handed him a granola bar which I wound up feeding to him because he couldn't lift his hand/arm to put it in his mouth.
The hospital monitored him and took blood work and chest x-rays but their thoughts were that he Did Not have a heart attack but his episode was a result of the fumes.
My question is: Is this a possibility?

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Angina many a times can be missed by a routine ECG. In which case, a treadmill or an exercise ECG may help. If he is a hypertensive, diabetic and overweight, he may fall in the high-risk group. In addition, if he is a smoker, the risk increases many fold. So it would be advisable to have a treadmill ECG done. Also, his symptoms may sometimes be due to asthma, which is triggered by allergens. It could also be due to hypoglycemia.

But it could also be due to an entity called TIA or transient ischemic attack, which as the name indicates there is a temporary lack of blood flow to a particular part of the brain. This usually recovers, but these people are more prone for strokes.

Only a thorough investigation can help diagnose the cause for his symptoms.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
