by crazygirl67, Aug 24, 2009 08:49AM
i went to the doctors the other day because my head had pressure pain from the back to sometimes in the forhead and temple area. it makes me feel dizzy at times especially in the morning when i wake up. my doctor gave me amoxicillin 500 mlg 3 times a day and a allergy pill clariton 10 mlg.  she also said my nasal passages were a little swollen. its been 6 days as of today, how long before it goes away.? does anyone else suffer from this? is there anything else i can do to help it along to be gone with?

The only other thing I can think of that you might try is saline washes.  You can either use a spray bottle, such as with the saline sprays you can buy at the drugstore (Ocean, Walgreens brand, etcetera), or you can use a netti pot which uses gravity and is a gentler approach to the problem.  Yes, it's going to be difficult with swollen nasal passages, but I've experienced resolution from a sinus infection without even using antibiotics with diligent saline washes.  I got rid of all that ugly green stuff with the saline washes and got rid of the sinus infection before it got out of control--all without even having to see the doctor or using antibiotics.  My conservative, but early, treatment saved me from having to take antibiotics.  My doctor only knew about the sinus infection after it was gone.

Sinusitis is really very easy to deal with if you understand a couple of basic points.  First, you don't want to kill only SOME of the bacteria.  Different antibiotics kill different bacteria.  When you take one, you kill only some and the others take over their space leaving a fauna that is more difficult to kill.  Second, all sinuses have fungus.  These guys insulate the bacteria from your immune system and keep them out of reach of the antibiotics.  Antibiotics won't kill fungus.  So, you need to kill the fungus. What you need is something to spray directly on the infected tissues, directly on the fungus and bacteria that kills all types of bacteria and the fungus as well.  Doing this brings the entire sinus area into balance and returns the control to your immune system.  I use Sinus Relief by Nature's Rite to do this and I will never use anything else.  It is a blessing to have found.
