sinus pain and dust allergy advice

Hi there, ive got the most frustrating doctor going who i genuinely believe is on the verge of retirement and couldnt really care or understand me?? and I really could do with some help and advise from you guys if poss please.

I work in an office, and within half an hour an hour to an hour of being in there, I get headaches, suffer chronic tiredness, sneeze, running nose and eyes etc etc etc.    Because of this I have now got and suffered with sinus infections, and ive been stuck in this visious circle for months and months and months, which is now affecting my work??

Anyhow i am now undergoing various tests, one with ENT in a few weeks time, yet i found out via a blood test last week that I have an Allergy to House-Dust?   and now awaiting to go to the Allergy Clinic.

I would like to ask, could this affect and explain why i suffer bad sinus headache pains, and feel nausa from time to time???    This past 2 days, i have started to loose the sensation in my hands and fingers (which is worrying me).   I somehow dont feel that my head is connected to the rest of my body, and wouldnt if any of you are / have experienced this, as its a tad scary.

My doctor has signed me off work with a Pollen Allergy?????   without doing any tests or proper assessments, and didnt really take into account that only the week before my blood tests came back with an allergy to house dust???

I am getting into trouble at work and feel i am fighting my corner to defend myself, by saying that its the office that is setting my allergy off, hense the headaches and tiredness etc etc etc.     Yet at the moment they dont seem to be doing anything about it  - the office is either very hot or very cold, is up on the very top floor and is cold and their is damp all over the roof in the corridor, which i believe is not helping either

Hello,

It seems that you are having hay fever or allergic rhinitis.

Allergic rhinitis is a collection of symptoms, predominantly in the nose and eyes, caused by airborne particles of dust, dander, or plant pollens in people who are allergic to these substances.

When a person with allergies breathes in an allergen such as pollen or dust, antibodies are produced. When the antibodies are stimulated by pollen and dust, histamine and other chemicals are released. This causes itching, swelling, and mucus production.
You can take OTC antihistaminics like benadryl or Claritin. Longer-acting antihistamines are available by prescription. They cause less drowsiness and can work just as well. These medications include fexofenadine (Allegra), and cetirizine (Zyrtec).

You can also use nasal corticosteroid sprays like nasocort or flonase. Decongestants may also be helpful in reducing symptoms such as nasal congestion, but they should not be used for long periods. Cromolyn sodium is a nasal spray (Nasalcrom) for treating hay fever. Eye drop versions of cromolyn sodium and antihistamines are available for itchy, bloodshot eyes.

If the symptoms are intense then you can go in for immunotherapy. For that consultation of an allergist are required.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
