sleep Disorder

Hi,

From last 2 and half year i am suffering from dust alergy (allergy). 40 days back i am attacked with cold and fever now fever and cold is cured but i am suffering from continous mucus in throat, chest tightness especialy more in night that to more if i work in aircondition and more sleep disorder getting sleep and awaking. So kindly help to get sufficent sleep.

Cough, chest tightness and breathlessness the three symptoms mentioned by you are the triad of symptoms for Asthma. It is a disease affecting the lungs causing narrowing of the airways, usually due to an allergic reaction to triggering factors. Therapy is with bronchodilators which cause the airways to dilate. This can get more severe at night and disturb sleep. Have yourself evaluated for the same. This can be detected by a spirometry. In the meantime take OTC acetaminophen, try to take warm oral fluids and do steam inhalations prior to your meals. This helps to loosen up and bring out the secretions.
