stuffy nose, pressure, on again off again feeling of breathing in water?

by jas7, Aug 27, 2006 12:00AM
I have always thought I just have allergies, but I'm not sure anymore. None of the medice seems to help my stuffy nose, pain or pressure for very long. If I push the tip of my nose up I can breathe a lot better. The past week or so every once in a while it will feel like I breathed water in through my nose. I hate that feeling, ugh. One more symptom is it feels like I get completely stuffed up if I lay down. I have to prop myself up to sleep well. I've been trying to figure out what's going on, but can't seem to. I don't have any kind of insurance, so I want to get informed about what could be going on as much as possible, befor i make a Dr. appt, so I don't waste time and money, you know? I would really appreciate any ideas/advice. Thanks so much.

It sounds to me like you've got sinus/allergy/ probably postnasal drip problems. I feel your pain. For the past 5 years I have struggled with an ongoing cough, and similar symptoms of allergies. I was tested for allergies using the ***** test, and it came out that I'm not allergic to anything. So, after many doctor vists, tests, unsolved mysteries, and being tried on various medications for assumed causes, it finally seems to be coming together for me (slowly, but with result). It wasn't until I was about to give up and finally decided to try the homeopathic route. I was able to locate a kind homeopathic doctor to help me in my search. She recommended me to take a homeopathic remedy called "Kali mur". Also, a sinus rinse (which my Allergist was also familiar with). The one I use is by Neilmed. It's called the "Sinus rinse kit". You can find it online at neilmed.com and is easily purchased a various pharmacies/other stores. If you decide to try it though, make sure you read the directions thoroughly more than once before using it. It's a little weird the first time, and you may have to try it more than once to get the full result, but in my opinion it's definitely worth while. Oh and it not prescription, fairly cheep, and won't react with other medications cause it's not medicated.

good luck with that. :-)
