swelling/edema possible causes?

i have had several outbreaks of swelling (edema).  my doctor says we must find the trigger.  It usually starts in my toes, or bottom of feet, or my palms or fingers.  but I have also had swelling/itching in the area between the armpit and elbow.  I even had two episodes of a swollen scrotom almost the size of a baseball.   i thought it was due to blood pressure meds but i got off them and it still occurs.  help

It could be due to your salt and water intake.  But recently I have seen a few people who had the similar symptoms.  They had a rheumatoid panel done and tested positive for rheumatoid arthritis, even though their only symptoms were swelling of the ankles, feet and hands.  Maybe you should think about being tested for this.
