swollen, painful throat and coughing

my 18 year old daughter started having throat problems and serious coughing shortly after starting work at a fast food restaurant. she had these symptoms for several months while working and missed a lot of school. we decided she should quit work, get better and be able to graduate. she didn't work for two months and was fine that entire time. she just started back to work this past week and has already started to have the swollen throat problems again. could she be allergic to something she is breathing in at work? cleaning chemical fumes maybe?

I would say she is defintley alllergic to something at work.  Not only could it be cleaning chemicals, it could also be the way they prepare their foods.  It sounds like she has an allergie to something or maybe even an asthmatic reaction to something.  I think it is time she finds a different line of work.  In the meantime, have her suck on Fruit Breezers Cough Drops to help soothe her throat.  I have found those to work best for me.
