swollen lips

I am 57 I have been using chapstick daily for 40 years.  Recently I need to use it every hour or so.  I even wake up in the middle of the night to apply chapstick.  In the last 2 weeks  I have been waking up with swollen lips and chapstick does not seem to be working like it used to. I have used many different products including LUSh and nothing is helping.  What should I do?

I have used blistex for over 25 years....Suddenly, (last 6 months) my lips are swelling, i noticed after using any brand of the LONG LAST lipstick, the next day, my lips would be slightly swollen, not noticable by anyone but myself, the next day however, they are noticibly swollen, and starting to take a pink color, after about two days of this, during which time they feel VERY full.....they start peeling, the feel like a cheese grater.....after a day or two of this, we are back to normal, but this has happened several times, I now no longer wear the long last lipstick, but noticed that when i simply used a lip liner and tinted gloss, it is starting to happen.. GRRRRRR ANY SUGGESTIONS???????
