thick nasal blood

My 5 year old son has has a cold fora few days. He also gets out of breath and coughs with any physical activity. He started having thick bloody discharge constantly coming out of his nose. Very thick and alot of it. Is this normal with a cold?

A bloody discharge is not normal during a cold and especially so in young children. Does he blow his nose too vigorously or put his finger in his nose too often?

What other symptoms does he have? Have you taken him to a pediatrician for his symptoms? What medications were prescribed?

You need to see a doctor immediately for his symptoms and for the blood discharge from his nose.
