Hello and hope you are doing well.

The 'foreign body' feeling you are experiencing could be due to infections or inflammations of the throat. Check to see if there are any patches. Sometimes it could also be due to tumors or growths. It can also happen due to iron deficiency anemia causing Plummer-Vinson syndrome, where there changes to the soft lining of the throat. Only a consultation with your primary care physician can help diagnose.

In the meantime repeated salt water gargles may help. Mix one teaspoon of salt in 1 cup of warm water and gargle. Please ensure to do this prior to your meals.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Very good point, you never know what could be causing the issue, whether its an allergic reaction to something or actual matter lodged in the throat.  Please do keep us updated.

What did you eat or drink the day before this happened?  Are you a smoker at all?  I ask this because a relative of mine had this when they smoked tobacco and had to eventually go to the doctor to get the lump removed.
