Hi, I have been getting for about three to four months, on and off, a tight feeling in my throat. So far the longest I had it was for a week and it was constant from when I woke up to when I went to bed. It feels like when you get a lump in your throat before you cry. I can breath fine, but I feel like I'm going to choke, and sometimes its so strong that my tongue even feels thick or stiff, like I might slur if I talked too fast. Its not a sore throat just tightens so much it aches.
Recently I saw a doctor and she said there are bumps all over the very back of my tongue and all over my tonsils, uvula and going down my throat. A throat culture showed no pathogens present and I also recently tested for mono and it was negative too.
Has anyone had this or know what it might be? I have no allergies that I know of. I do get my thyroid checked every 6 months because my TSH jumps up and down and I have some antibodies present that are a sign of autoimmune disease. I also had really bad hives for about 2.5 years and the allergist that called it urticaria, but they just stopped. I rarely get them any more. The doc said that I have some autoimmune thing going on. Could this be related to the autoimmune thing?
??Don't know what to do next, I can't take that choking feeling all the time.
