underarm rashes

Good day,

I hope you could advise with my rashes issue.  This was started when I wore wool sweater.  I scratched my underarms then the following day I noticed that there were rashes.  I'm not applying any ointment because I'm afraid that it will be irritated.  What medications can I take?

Hi,
How are you? The rashes could be due to irritation or infection. If it is an irritation, removal of the irritant will help resolve the rash. There is no need for any ointment or medication. Try to avoid scratching also to prevent secondary infection. However, if it persists, have this evaluated further to rule out infection. Antibioitic medication may be indicated. Hi Doc, I checked your profile and I saw that you're in Ph.  I'm also Filipino but I'm here in Ohio.  I was about to go to dermatologist today but the next available date of the doctor for new patient is on November 17...  It's a big relief that I don;t need to treat this.  I'm not sure where I got it but I think it's due to the clothe that I wore then I scratched it.  Thank you again Dok.
